Since 1991, Lake Country Vacation Rentals has been offering private home vacation rentals on the lake, beside the river, in the mountains and along the golf course, surrounded by the astounding Blue Ridge Mountains.

Lake Country Vacation Rentals was founded by Tom and Carole McKay and is run primarily by a small handful of professional support staff who have many years experience in lodging, property care, and guest and owner relations.

Our staff is personable, caring and will go out of their way to make sure your vacation needs are taken care of!

It is our goal to provide the best in private home accommodations to help ensure our guests relax, refresh, and re-connect with family and loved ones.

The homes we accept are put through a rigorous test to make certain they meet the health and safety requirements of state and local agencies. Using an objective analysis, we don’t try to “over-sell” on any of the features and benefits, as many “By Owner” sites like to do. We will give you straight answers! Each member of our reservation staff is required to personally view each and every property we offer. We strive to update photographs and information on a weekly basis to keep you up to date.

In the event of an unforeseen emergency where the home you book becomes unavailable, then we make certain that you are provided with a similar home with as many as the same features and benefits of the original home at no additional cost to you. Unfortunately, “By Owner” rentals do not always have the opportunity to make these same provisions!

The Hickory Nut Gorge is also home to Chimney Rock State Park which in January 2009 was listed #3 best scenic view in the South by Southern Living Magazine. If you have ever visited Chimney Rock, you would know why! You could spend a whole day in this state park and then visit Chimney Rock village right outside the gates. The village is made up of unique shops featuring locally made crafts and wood carvings and wonderful local restaurants.

Hendersonville, NC home of the Apple Festival each September is only a 20 minute drive away. Here you will find a quaint downtown for exploring shops and restaurants all day. There are also larger retail stores and a movie theatre as well as a mall in Hendersonville .

Asheville, NC has recently been voted in the top 10 best city’s to visit by Southern Living Magazine. This eclectic town is home to Bele Chere, the largest outdoor street festival in the south east.
